In 2013, the second phase of the expansion of the Bailongang Sewage Treatment Plant was completed and put into operation, with a total processing capacity of 2.8 million tons per day. By the end of 2019, the entire plant underwent upgrading and achieved compliance with the national Class A discharge standards for effluent. Currently, the Bailongang Plant processes approximately 1.1 billion tons of sewage annually, reducing COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand) by about 350,000 tons per year.
